The Place Called Calvary Luke 23:33

Defining: Calvary Mentioned 1 time in the Bible. (Luke 23:33) Greek word for Calvary is “Kranion” which means “a skull.” Matthew, Mark, and John all refer to what Luke calls Calvary as “Golgotha” which means “place of a skull.” (Matt. 27:33; Mark 15:22; John 19:17)

What happened at Calvary? Christ was crucified there. (Lk. 23:33; Mk. 15:25) Prophecy was fulfilled there. (Mt. 26:56; Jn. 19:28; Lk. 24:44-47) The Old Law was abolished there. (Jer. 31:31-33; Heb. 8:7; Col. 2:14) God’s love was demonstrated there. (Rom. 5:7-8; Jn. 15:13)
