Now lets pick our favourite setting From the settings we just discussed, you are going to pick your favourite one. First you will draw the setting. Then you will write as many describing words as you can around the picture. Last write 3 sentences about the picture.

Say these words out loud. Can you hear which ones rhyme? Can you think of any more rhyming words? Discuss only.

Add a rhyming word to each list: Write them in their copy books. cat flat chat top flop plop pin win shin

Can you say this nursery rhyme out loud? Can you hear which words rhyme? Can you hear the rhyming words in any other nursery rhymes?

Here are some pictures from stories you might know: Talk about the stories with a friend. Which story is your favourite? Why? Which character did you like best? Can you retell the story? With a partner can you draw the beginning, middle and end of the story in your book?
