The Ewing Public Schools TITLE I Ready Freddy The Ewing Public Schools TITLE I READY FREDDY KINDERGARTEN CLUB OVERVIEW (FOR INCOMING ELIGIBLE KINDERGARTEN CHILDREN) A QUALITY TRANSITION IS KEY TO STUDENT SUCCESS Transition process begins during Kindergarten Round-Up Creating: · Community partnerships · Parent engagement · Quality transition Kindergarten round-up dates for Antheil, Lore, and Parkway are set for March, 2017. Please call Mrs. Diane Sholes at (609) 538-9800 ext. 7181 or Mrs. Erica Cook at ext. 7175 or go to our website at www.Ewing.k12.nj.us and fill out the pre-registration form and fax to (609) 883-3458 or scan/email to registration@ewingboe.org Ewing public school’s vision for incoming kindergarten students:  Our 5th annual TITLE I Ready Freddy Kindergarten Club for eligible kindergartens will occur again this summer. This program offers to those qualifying students entering kindergarten a variety of early literacy activities and a way to acclimate our new students and their parents to the district and what it has to offer. This program will assist eligible students in making the move into kindergarten based on all five domains of development; adaptive, personal-social, communication, motor and cognitive but focusing more heavily on early literacy skills.

TITLE I Ready Freddy  Why are Quality Transitions important? · Welcomes families and children to kindergarten · Helps children be ready to learn in a formal setting · Reduces anxiety · Increases enrollment and attendance · Fosters parent involvement and education of ways to promote early literacy skill acquisition · Creates continuity of learning between home and school PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY: Students will be identified for eligibility in our program during a screening at Kindergarten Round-Up. Eligibility will be considered based on multiple measures.  Please do not wait to register your child! If your child is turning 5 by October 1, please begin the process and register.
