Community of Practice: The World Bank Group defines a community of practice (CoP) as a gathering of individuals motivated by the desire to cross organizational boundaries, to relate to one another, and to build a body of actionable knowledge through coordination and collaboration. The Jobs Gateway in South Eastern Europe is a community of practice (CoP) for academics, practitioners, experts and policy makers who are working to create more jobs with high development returns and that promote shared prosperity in South Eastern Europe. On the platform we share experiences and lessons learned, provide access to cutting-edge knowledge, and foster partnerships.

Benefits to Membership As it stands, we have over 100 members that includes a core group who share similar professional interests with a need to connect and share Have access to a network of experts and professional in the field, access to current resources, expertise and experiences Ability to synergize with partners knowledge and across all sectors and levels Build professional learning and development Document and share knowledge both in the region and globally

Video-Conference Learning Events Every 4 to 6 weeks, we host scheduled video conference learning events to discuss policy-relevant issues and reforms. This method allows us to connect, synergize and build upon existing practices and knowledge. Through this, we strive to increase the dialogue and coordination to overcome common challenges and share similar success. Some examples from this fiscal year: Croatian Ministry of Labor and Pension System discussed social security vouchers for agricultural day workers, a reform aimed to reduce informal employment. Austria presented on the introduction of social security vouchers for domestic workers and Sweden on a reform that introduced time ledgers for part-time workers in certain service sectors. UNDP shared their experience with implementing the social card – social welfare information system (SWIS) in Montenegro. Latvia reflected on their implementation of work-based learning in the vocational education and training (VET) system
