Oven assist for limited arm strength Team 5: Kurt diehl Jacob tyger Chloe hanes

People with arthritis or just limited arm strength have difficulty getting foods in and out of the oven. Some people do not have the ability to move dishes and trays from the counter to the oven and vise versa. Meals could easily be dropped if arm strength gives out or a good grip on pan/dish isn’t achievable Meals can weigh <1 lb. to about 22 lbs. Source Food Safety.org

Design a means for someone with limited arm strength or arthritis to easily get food from the counter into the oven and vise versa Objectives Constraints Cost $100 to build Lasts 10+ years Be able to lift food from oven to counter in less than a minute Be able to support 50 lb. meals Can be set in place Compatible with all ovens Material must withstand heat Limited to $100 Customer has limited arm strength Fit all types of ovens Time limit

Our competitors Can assist oven loader Assistance technology oven helper Remote controlled Runs off of electricity Tilting aluminum tray Lockable wheels Easy movement wheels $550 Gas spring lever adjustment 22” height to 36” height Lifts up to 21.5 pounds Modified rolling table Sources: http://www.canassist.ca/EN/main/programs/technologies-and-devices/at-home/oven-loader.html https://sites.duke.edu/atdesign/2012/10/09/oven-helper/
