Galatians 5:22 Patience

Good things come to those who wait! Patience is a virtue! Good things come to those who wait! “The end of a matter is better than its beginning, and patience is better than pride.” Ecclesiastes 7:8

Patience—being patient Patient— a. Bearing pains or trials without complaint; b. Manifesting forbearance under provocation or strain; c. Not hasty or impetuous; d. Steadfast despite opposition difficulty, or adversity; e. Able or willing to bear Patient 2—one awaiting or under medical care; the recipient of any of various personal services; one that is acted upon.

Patience = Faith To have patience means to show faith in God’s will and God’s ways. “And so after waiting patiently, Abraham received what was promised.” Hebrews 6:15

Patience = Faith Part of being patient is being steadfast to the end. “We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, so that what you hope for may be fully realized. We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.” Hebrews 6:11-12

Patience = Faith “Just because it’s not happening right now, doesn’t mean that it never will.”—unknown “Patience is the calm acceptance that things can happen in a different order than the one you had in mind.”—David G. Allen

“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, Patience = Strength Patience is similar to meekness (strength under control). We show strength when we bear trials without complaint, we remain steadfast despite opposition, difficulty, or adversity. “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” Romans 12:12

Patience = Strength “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” James 1:2-4

Patience = Strength “A moment of patience in a moment of anger saves you a hundred moments of regret.” —unknown “Patience is choosing to control your emotions rather than letting your emotions control you.” —Mark Merrill

Patience = Strength “A person’s wisdom yields patience; it is to one’s glory to overlook an offense.” Proverbs 19:11 “Love is patient,” I Corinthians 13:4

Patience = Strength Patience is something that takes time to learn. “The kids who need the most love will ask for it in the most unloving ways.” —unknown

Patience = Strength “Remember how far you’ve come, not just how far you have to go. You’re not where you want to be, but neither are you where you used to be.” —unknown

Patience = Mercy Parable of the unmerciful servant found in Matthew 18:21-35 We must show forbearance to others just as God has with us.

Patience = Mercy “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.” Colossians 3:12-14

Patience = Strength “When you’re tempted to lose patience with someone, think about how patient God has been with you.”—unknown

Patience = Mercy “Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near. Don’t grumble against one another, brothers and sisters, or you will be judged. The Judge is standing at the door! James 5:7-9

Patience = Mercy “To us waiting is wasting. To God, waiting is working.”—Louie Giglio

Patience = Mercy “But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” “Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation,…) II Peter 3:8-9, 15

God’s patience with mankind will not last forever.
