Association of Adventist Young Professionals Presented during the Young Adult Retreat, Paradise Hotel – Mombasa 30th Oct – 2nd Nov 2008

Who we are AAYP is a not- for- profit, voluntary and membership-based Association that serves as an umbrella organization for Adventist Young Professionals.

Who we are The Association of Adventist Young Professionals (AAYP) was established in June 2008 by a number of young professionals in a meeting held at the East and Central Africa Division offices.

AAYP Aim The aim of AAYP is to bring together Adventist young professionals in the bid to enhance their spiritual growth, fellowship, economic growth and Professional development.

AAYP Objectives To establish the AAYP as the representative organization for Adventist young professionals in Eastern & Central Africa; To use all lawful, proper and prudent means to ensure members’ aspirations and interests are realized and secured; To provide a forum for the members to interact and grow personally, socially, and spiritual; To promote career development and personal growth for the young professionals through seminars, volunteerism and mentorship with established professionals;

AAYP Objectives cont. To draw / attract and keep young talents in the Adventist church by welcoming and supporting new professions by developing connections and mentoring opportunities with the young people. To foster the interaction of the members at all levels for the purposes of enhancing informed spiritual discourse, economic empowerment and harmonious social intercourse.  To kindle change in the Adventist church and make the voice of the young professionals heard by becoming more involved in church activities and elected to position that were a reserve for the few;

AAYP Objectives cont. To organize, arrange and conduct forums to provide legal aid, educational, charitable and voluntary services to the public.  To broaden and enhance the spiritual life, academic and professional excellence, social network and economic status of members through the promotion of worthy etiquette of the Christian community, social interaction and economic investments;  To form, foster nurture and promote friendly relations and understanding with other organizations, bodies, societies and with governmental and non-governmental organizations within and without Eastern & Central Africa;

Engaging in economical empowering programmes like income generating initiatives, investment clubs – financial securities, real estates Give economic empowerment and Create employment opportunities Finding lasting / sustainable solution to various needs in the church Networking and exchange of ideas and opportunities Engage members with other professions across the world
