Presentation transcript:

Welcome to Miss Eckart’s Kindergarten Please fill out the orange and blue forms at your child’s seat and leave in the colored bins at your table. After our meeting, your child will be brought back to Room 102. Then you will be able to help your child put his/ her things away and attend the social, if you so choose. Join nList (www.nlisthelp.com/join) Very important for distributing classroom and school-wide information Kindergarten Social at Short Pump Park following Orientation Relax and enjoy! We will have a great year!

In supply box… Everything else needs to be labeled with your child’s name and put in the proper bins in the back. 2 pencils 1 box of crayons 1 glue stick 1 pair of scissors 1 pink eraser

Transportation, Transportation, Transportation! Any changes to transportation must be made in writing. Only approved/listed adults may pick their kg. student off the bus. (Please come to the bus stop with a valid picture ID) Children are not allowed to ride other buses home with friends. Children that will be daily/weekly car riders in the afternoon must register for a car pass with the front office. Random parent pick-ups will dismiss from the office. Daycare riders-please be sure to notify your daycare in the event of a change in your child’s afternoon dismissal. Send your child on the bus the first day if your plan is to be a bus rider for the year! Be prepared for early/late buses during the first week of school!

Lunch and Snack Lunch buyers Add money to your child’s account today in the cafeteria. Send any lunch money in a labeled bag/envelope. Discuss ahead of time with your child what they should get for lunch. Put restrictions on your child’s lunch account. Make Ms. Pair, Cafeteria Manager, aware of any food allergies your child has. Packers Send a healthy lunch with your child along with utensils and napkins. Make your child aware if his/her lunch contains any tree nut or peanut products. Help your child practice opening containers/packages so they can be independent at lunch. Discuss with your child what to do with unfinished/unopened food. Manners are very important in the dining room. Children are expected to remain in their seats until the end of lunch when they are asked to clean up and throw away their own trash. It is helpful to us as a staff if parents wait until the third week of school to join your child at lunch time. Eating lunch without a parent is an important step towards independence. Snack One healthy, nut free snack and water. No other drinks allowed in the classroom.

Parent and Student Must-Dos Parents Support your children every day by helping them take on the responsibilities of being a successful student by coming prepared for the day. Read my blog every Sunday/Monday evening so you’ll know what the upcoming week will be about. Send them off in the morning with words of encouragement and the challenge to learn or try something new for the day. Welcome them in the afternoon with a desire to hear about their day and check their folder for news, notes, work and their behavior chart. Label coats, sweaters, lunch boxes, hats, etc. Students Pack up your backpack with your folder, lunch/snack, and library book. Come to school well-rested and ready to learn. Wear tennis shoes everyday so you will be safe on the playground. Learn to tie your shoes, zip coats, and put on winter gloves.
