Getting through the program using the IB Learner Profile Inquirer: Ask for help! Your teachers, counselors and IB Coordinator all want to help you be successful. Knowledgeable: Rely on your knowledge, but know that you can always learn more. Also know that there are very smart students and teachers all around you, and there is a lot of knowledge that you can learn. Thinkers: Use your brain! Sometimes it’s easy to try to take short cuts and use information from other sources. That can hurt you in the long-run. The IB program is designed to help you develop your thinking skills in a supportive environment. We’ll guide you into becoming an amazing thinker. Getting through the program using the IB Learner Profile Communicators: Let us know if you are having issues or struggling. We can’t help you if you don’t let us know that you need it. Principled: Be responsible, be respectful and be ready to learn in all areas of your life. Open-minded: Have a “growth mindset”. Having a growth mindset means believing that your most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work. Caring: Please know that the school and your parents are supportive and are trying to help you. Getting through the program using the IB Learner Profile
Getting through the program using the IB Learner Profile Risk-taker: Don’t be afraid to get out of your “academic” comfort zone. Challenge yourself to push towards your true potential. Balanced: Be sure to take time for yourself. There needs to be a balance between school, extra-curricular activities and a social life. This balance will look different for everyone. But just like you shouldn’t let school take over your life, make sure other activities aren’t affecting school. Reflective: Think about your strengths and utilize them. Also think about areas that you can improve on and be willing to work on them. Getting through the program using the IB Learner Profile
