Enjoying role playing Spartan characters.

Ooh, Callum looks quite fearsome in this photo Ooh, Callum looks quite fearsome in this photo! Great acting skills Callum, even Charlie looks a bit scared. It’s not easy to keep a straight face when someone opposite you is wearing a wig. Spartan soldiers grew their hair long it was a sign of strength.

Playing an Ancient Greek game. Yes, Katie is winning!

Now it’s everyones turn. See how hard they are concentrating.

This is Charlie dressed as a Spartan soldier. Yes really, it is Charlie!

Our fabulous costumes…

The sun was shining and we were able to eat our Greek picnic lunches outside. What a treat in October!

This is Archimedes the great Greek thinker… This is Archimedes thinking in the bath… Eureka he’s got it…

We made our own clay coins.

In the hall we role played the story of Hades and Persephone. Cerberus the 3 headed dog that guards the underworld.

We had lots of fun trying to balance peacock feathers on our fingers…

To finish off the day we learned all about the Hippocratic Oath that doctors swear today, named after the Ancient Greek physician Hippocrates and how the Ancient Greek doctors used to treat illnesses. We decided that spiders webs would not really be as effective as a plaster to cover up a cut!
