STSA STUDY & ABOUT ME When I was born Where I was born My family My life and school as a kid How did I grow up My life expectations and how I understood it My transformation/ break thru

When I was born Where I was born I was born on Sunday 20th April 1986, at 5pm I was born In Masaka district, in Uganda. I was born at home, not in the hospital. My dad helped my mother give birth to me, And so to other children I am the 1st of ten children .

My Stressful life Mr. Jiggers in 1993 to 1996( because I was eaten by jiggers) (refer this link to know what I am talking about.) what you see in the pics is how much they ate me. https://www.jimnduruchi.com/jiggers/ Beating up: This is related to financial desperacy and a parent is trying to avoid the kids from bothering him. Extreme poverty also affects some one not to think straight, can do any thing without thinking twice Responsible for my self since 1995 (9yrs) Walking 8Kms to a town to sell harvested crops in a big basket (30kg and more)

My life and school Started school in 1993 when I was 7 1995- I was in P.3 1996- I was in P.3 In 1999 I was in P.6 In 2000 I was in P.6 2002---------S.1 2005---------S.4 2006----------S.5 2007----------S.6 I repeated those classes because I never concentrated as I always focused on hunting for money ADVANCED LEVEL (A.LEVEL)

why most kids live a miserably Rural areas.. 20 to 30 of age= 5-7 children from 3 different men (school dropout/no school){thinking that sleeping with some one is a guarantee of love..the only way to secure love} Kids living with elderly No love for those kids Grow up desperately and So lonely Miserable

One is 3yrs another is 5yrs

School set up and experience 4 levels of school Nursery 2 years Primary 7 years Secondary/High school. 6 years (Day & boarding) University 1 to 6years Certificate Diploma Bachelors degree

School structure and facility UPE and USE Good schools in urban areas Rural areas with worst schools Worst performance Children walk 4 to 10kms to nearby school They are by them selves.

Walking in a group to school

Going to school bare footed

My life expectations and how I understood it I am not like others/ meant to be like this. Never dreamt of better life. Food Marry and have children I did not know what I wanted to be(because of the people that I was associated with )

BREAK THRU Met Valeda in 2003 In 2009. I met Geoff: Helped to translate to the mothers and then to children in his reserch. Geoff offered to Pay my University tuition fees for 3Yrz Started University in 2010. by Geoff’s sponsorship Always tried to take every opportunity that came across.(I always try no matter what!) Graduated in 2014

What is STSA?? Story Telling and Story Acting activity STSA STUDY What is STSA?? Story Telling and Story Acting activity

How was it conducted Read a book Try to change voice tones to represent different characters in the book (This helps the kids to like the story, follow and pay attention and comprehend ) Ask them questions about the story hard Ask then questions that requires them to think

Appreciate even when the answer is wrong, but they should know its wrong When some one gives the right answer, sing a song to praise them or clap in a special way for them

DRAWING WITH CRAYONS Ask if any one would like to tell a story collect stories as others continue drawing Underline characters in the story as the author watch you do this! Drawing with crayons helps the other kids stay focused and silent

PLAY THE STORIES We need Play ground (triangle) Read the story of each individual aloud Let the author pick who s/he want to play like a certain character in his/her story. Read the story again (slow!) Each character will play his/her role

Do the same to every story DONE

How does it help the kids Kids tell stories about what happens in their lives Creativity (because of imagination) Cooperation and Associating with other children Openness Creates relation ship btn kids/ making friends Confidence in the kids Reading culture
