Informational Parent Meeting Jekyll Island 4-H Center field trip I

SAVE THE DATES!! Feb 8 - 10, 2017 (Wed - Friday) This is a first come, first serve basis and we are only taking 100 students who meet the behavior and school criteria to participate.

ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE Leave from front bus lane of SCMS at 6:30 AM on Wednesday Feb 8th Return to front of SCMS at 6:00 PM on Friday Feb 10th.

HOUSING ARRANGEMENTS The rooms sleep 7 campers per room which contain full bathrooms, heating and air conditioning. All dorms have a small private room to accommodate one-two chaperones Campers will provide their own bed linens (sleeping bag) and towels. Bunk mates will be determined in January. Campers will be responsible for cleaning their room for inspection by the 4H staff on the morning of departure.

INSURANCE Each student must have current health insurance. All proof of insurance is due with permission slip and payment.

TRIP AVAILABILITY 100 students who meet the behavior criteria will be eligible to attend. Behavior Criteria: 3rd Quarter AMP: 3 signatures or 1 referral will eliminate a student’s eligibility to attend. First come first serve

PAYMENT DETAILS 100 students Price is based upon 100 students participating. If 100 students do not reserve a spot, the price for the trip will increase. Permission form, proof of insurance and full payment of $250.00 paid by December 9, 2016. Deposit of $150.00 is due by Oct 21st 2016 in order to reserve your spot. Final payment of $100 is due on or by Dec 9, 2016.

PAYMENT DETAILS Forms of payment will be cash, check, or money order. (returned check fee will apply) Mrs. McCafferty will be accepting payments ONLY on the Activity Center stage from 7:30 - 8:00 AM Oct 14th - Oct 21st. PAYMENTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AT ANY OTHER TIME!!! This includes front office, classrooms, after school, etc. After we reach our 100 student quota, we will create a waiting list.

REFUNDS Because we must make our final payment to the 4H Center in December, there are NO REFUNDS after Dec 9th.

CHAPERONES Chaperones are 1 to every 10 students. If you are interested in being a chaperone, you must have a full background check, including fingerprints ($47.50) completed before being considered. You may pick up a chaperone packet at the front desk of the M/HS. Once completed, please contact April McCafferty. Understand that most chaperone spots will be filled by school personnel, and parents of students with serious medical conditions will be considered first.

WHAT’S NEXT? Completed permission slips with payment ($150.00) are due by October 21, 2016. Be on the lookout for a final parent meeting in the beginning of January 2017 for final guidelines, packing lists and itineraries.
