Eph 1:22–23 22 And he put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.   Eph 3:10–11 10 so that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. 11 This was according to the eternal purpose that he has realized in Christ Jesus our Lord Eph 3:20–4:1 20 Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Destined – in Christ: To be holy and blameless – 1:3, 5:26-27 For adoption as sons – 1:5 For an inheritance – 1:11-13 For the praise of His glory (He receives glory in the Church) – 1:12, 14, 3:21 To be THE ‘one new man’ in Christ – 1:9-10, 2:11-22, 3:6 To be the Bride of Christ – 5:25-32

Called – in Christ To be the Church To be the manifestation of His manifold wisdom – 3:7-12 To be His Body: The fullness of Him who fills all in all – 1:22-23 A dwelling place for God by the Spirit – 2:22 For good works (works of service) – 2:10, 4:12 To walk in love toward each other

His great power is at work mightily in us (1:19, 3:16-20, 6:10) Sealed and continually filled with the Holy Spirit – 1:13, 5:18 Gifts are given to aid us in this calling – produces in us: Equipping for works of service / ministry – 4:12 Building up the body of Christ – 4:12 The unity of the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God – 4:13 Mature manhood, no longer children – 4:13,14 The measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ – 4:13 To enable us to stand: Through every wind of doctrine – 4:14 Against the strategies of the enemy – 6:10

His plan works itself out in and through the Church as: We walk in a manner worthy of our calling – 4:1-2 We maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace – 4:3 We walk in the works of service he calls us to – 2:10, 4:12 We grow up in every way into Him who is the head, into Christ – 4:15 The body builds itself up in love as each part does its work – 4:16

His plan works itself out in and through the Church as: We no longer walk the way the world does – 2:2-3, 4:17 Our behaviour is that of His kingdom World carries out the desires of the flesh and the mind (2:3) We walk in the good works God had prepared beforehand for us We put off the old self and put on the new self – 4:22-24 Our mindset, worldview is that of His Kingdom World is darkened in their understanding We have learned the way of Christ We are renewed in the Spirit of our minds – 4:23

His plan works itself out in and through the Church as: We do not grieve the Holy Spirit – 4:30 But are continually filled with the Spirit – 5:18 We are imitators of Him – 5:1 Walking in sacrificial love like Jesus, who gave Himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God

His plan works itself out in and through the Church as: We are good, husbands, wives, fathers and mothers, children, employers and employees – 5:22-6:9 We are strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might – 6:10-17 We stand firm against the schemes of the devil– 6:10, 13 His schemes are designed to keep us from our calling and destiny We pray at all times– 6:18-20 In the Holy Spirit With all prayer and supplication for all the saints Keeping alert with all perseverance
