Corbett Harrison (corbettharrison.com) Nevada Reading Week Corbett Harrison (corbettharrison.com) First of all, know I maintain a website where you can freely access materials for improved writing instruction. I have a page just for “Vocabulary Workshop” resources.

Corbett Harrison (corbettharrison.com) Nevada Reading Week Corbett Harrison (corbettharrison.com) In my “Vocabulary Workshop”: Students choose from the vocabulary they’ve encountered in our readings. They select words based on this question: “Do I see myself using this word in my future and, if so, where and how?” Students “publish” their words, using a small writing or research assignment to show they understand the words and can think about them in new contexts. Students share their words and their writings with each other, attempting to persuade a fellow classmate to add the word to his/her vocabulary too. Many student examples at my Pinterest Board!
