What are we learning in 1st grade? March What’s the BUZZ in First Grade? March 6, 2017 What are we learning in 1st grade? As we are God’s children, living under Him in His kingdom, we learn to trust in His care and protection, and we learn to honor Him and put Him first in our lives. Learn and practice the elements to narrative writing. How to make and read graphs. How to determine length and time. Recognize and describe some of the different types of environments found on Earth. God has provided many resources for us on Earth. We will learn about these resources and how to save them. LENT We are now in the season of the church year called Lent. During this time before Easter, we think about all that Jesus did for us in order to give each of us the gifts of eternal life and forgiveness. Everyday in first grade, we give and receive the gift of forgiveness to and from each other. We strive to follow Jesus’ example and show love and forgiveness to those around us. Parent-Teacher Conferences I enjoyed meeting with you during conferences last week. Thank you for your commitment encouragement, and involvement in your first grader’s education. I know that we will continue to work together through the end of the school year. Reminders * Please send a water bottle each day. (We are trying to keep our germs to ourselves.) * Please send napkins and eating utensils in lunch boxes. * Please write your child’s name on lunch heat-ups. * Gym shoes are to be worn on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
