Activity done The programme has been very useful for Recaplast. We had the opportunity to work together with energy management experts who showed us how to monitor energy data. The gained information has provided us with a different perspective on the processes and the development of the factory. This new approach helped us to avoid wasting energy.
Activity done Since 2014 Reca Plast has done several improvements: Machinery replacement with Best Available Techniques (BAT) equipment: a new screw compressor with Variable Speed Driver (VSD) technology has been mounted in 2014/2015 for utility service (compressed air): saving estimated > 45%; Payback Period < 1y
Activity done Machinery replacement with BAT equipment: a new CNC machine has been installed during 2015/2016 both for an increase productivity and for energy saving. Some features embedded in the machine, introduce important innovation in the molds manufacturing; saving estimated > 40% Lighting replacement with LED technology: large part of the lighting for production room has been replaced with LED: saving estimated about 50% Vs previous installation. Payback Period < 3y
Activity done Renewable Energy Production: with the contribution of government subsidy, the roof of the headquarter in Osimo (AN) has been covered with a 85kWp PV plant providing electricity during the peak hour when the facility register its peak demand.
Funds and difficulties Reca Plast has done this improvements through regional, national and own funds. The greatest difficulties have been encountered in applying for the funds made available for energy-efficiency measures: Complicated bureaucratic practices and long times between demand and collection, hardly compatible with the needs of industry.
Plans for the future Reca Plast is planning to build a completely new factory plant, NZEB oriented, smart, together with BMS. The building will be eco-bio compatible and sustainable. The new working stations will be chosen for the best energy and production efficiency. This new approach will free all the resources for a better living, a maximum efficiency production for a cost reduction and a better place in the market.
Thank you!
