WP22 WASA 2 Continue with data collection and QA Continued spikes in T-grad data from WM12. However less spikes during cool, rainy periods, than when hot. Replaced whole T-grad system on 8/3/2017. Data now ok. Also couple of spikes now on T-grad of WM15. If gets worse will also replace whole system. Temp/Rh sensor at WM15 stopped working correctly on 22 Dec 2016 just before 15:00. WM15 – Temp/Rh sensor was replaced on 1 Feb 2017 Sensor sent to supplier for checking, which reported that some sort of electric current had damaged resistors on the sensor’s circuit board and ribbon cable. WM14 battery power will have to be closely monitored, as long periods of heavy overcast weather can have an effect on the solar panel recharging the battery, as shown below for period 19 -26 Feb 2017. A hard disk already required replacement in 2015 Possibly from contingency funds? RODEO and online WASA graphs website: - CSIR IT cautioned that these could be vulnerable to hacking. WP 22 WASA 2 Mast maintenance During visit to Mast WM13 on 2 Feb 2017 to collect some info for Site Description Report, it was noted that some guy wires were fairly corroded. Was taken up with mast supplier. Wind Atlas for South Africa (WASA)
WP 23 WASA 2 Station and Site Description Report WM13 and WM15 masts were visited 31 Jan – 3 Feb to collect the few outstanding measurements still required for the Station and Site Description Report Station and Site Description Report now finalised and uploaded to sharepoint website OWA also completed Wind Atlas for South Africa (WASA)
Next 6 months Continue with data collection and QA of WASA2. Get High Priority repairs to WASA 1 masts effected (WM01, WM03, WM05, and WM10), with structural repairs to concrete foundations at WM07 and WM08 (also repairs to fences at WM08) WASA1 funding after Oct 2016?
