Welcome to 2017!! 4th Grade Newsletter 4th Six Weeks Principal Shavannia Dash Assistant Principals: Johnny Gassaway and Sharri Zachary Welcome to 2017!! Mrs. Beck Reading This 6 Weeks, we will review the TEKS: cause-n-effect, sequence, problem/solution, compare-n-contrast, making connections, inferencing, main ideas and details, similes and metephors Ms. Varner Math This 4th Six Weeks, we will continue to review skills such as: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division through the use of the problem solving method. Ms. Humphrie Science Students will experience the Scientific Method Process as it relates to the properties of soil. Social Studies Students will begin writing scripts for Social Studies about the different explorers. Mrs. Pettigrew Writing This 6 Weeks, we are implementing the 11-minute essay to improve our writing. We will continue to revise and edit drafts. Students need to come to school prepared with binders organized and PENCILS. A writing utensil is the key to success in all classes. 4th Grade Newsletter 4th Six Weeks Important Reminders: Planners and Binders The Planner and Binder is a part of our AVID Program designed to help our children to be successful, prepared and organized daily. Please make sure to check them each day for important information and assignments. These items are to travel from school to home every day. Binder checks are done weekly.
