More info on ‘Take Exam Via Webcam’… If an exam is online (not paper based) you can select the ‘Take Exam Via Webcam’ option located in student scheduling step 2 You must have a web cam, microphone and stable internet connection to take exams via webcam Microphones and webcams built into computer sare compatible with ‘Take Exam Via Webcam’ Tablets/Ipads are not compatible with ‘Take Exam Via Webcam’ On the day of a scheduled ‘Take Exam Via Webcam’ appointment log into http://online.northcarolina.edu and select the ‘Start Exam’ button on your ‘My Services’ page to access the appointment Online proctors are available almost 24 hours a day/7 days a week All online appointments occur in real time with live proctors (proctors monitor students’ faces, computer screens and audio during appointments) Proctors will perform a student identification checks before the start of each exam Be on time for appointments (there are no refunds for missed appointments) As with face-to-face proctors, dress appropriately for online appointments (no hats) The proctor will remote into your computer to enter the exam password The UNC system does not receive funds from the ‘Take Exam Via Webcam’ option

Scheduling Your Exam In step 2, if your exam is online (not paper based), you can select the ‘Take Exam Via Webcam’ option. Exam Details are listed here, including a message from your instructor

‘Take Exam Via Webcam’ For online exam types (not an option for paper based exams) Students must have a web cam, microphone and stable internet connection to take exams via webcam Microphones and webcams built into computer are compatible with ‘Take Exam Via Webcam’ Tablets/Ipads are not compatible with ‘Take Exam Via Webcam’ ProctorU proctors are available almost 7 days a week/24 hours a day. All appointments occur in real time with live proctors.

*Test Your System* Prior to scheduling appointments with ‘Take Exam Via Webcam’ select the ‘Test Your System’ button. This process will ensure your equipment and internet speed is compatible with ProctorU.

Schedule Appointment Use the scroll bar to limit the time block shown. Select a date from the drop down box, and choose one of the available times. Then click ‘Schedule’ to schedule your appointment. Note the fee. Upon scheduling, you are required to pay the fee.

When it is time for your appointment, log into UNC Online and click the ‘Start Your Exam’ button
