Bulgaria is in Europe. It is situated on the Balkan Peninsula.

OUR SCHOOL Our school is situated in Sofia city center.

OUR SCHOOL 127th School   "Ivan Nikolaevich Denkoglu" is a modern school, which is the oldest in Sofia with its 175 years history. Modern facilities and coziness in the school makes it prefered.   The school has more than 800 students. from the first to the twelfth grade.  We are working on many European projects.

Our city Sofia is the capital of Bulgaria. Sofia is an ancient city with a rich history. The city was founded by a Thracian tribe 3000 years ago.

Capital There are a lot of museums, universities, theatres, monuments, famous buildings and parks. The Alexander Nevski Cathedral is the biggest church in Bulgaria.

Our nature Bulgaria is famous for its beautiful nature. There are a lot of high mountains, vast plains, rivers and lakes.

Rivers The Danube is the longest river in the European Union. It is an important international waterway. Iskar is the longest river in Bulgaria.

Lakes The Srebarna Nature Reserve is a freshwater lake near the Danube. There are almost 100 species of birds, many of which are rare or endangered. The 7 Rila Lakes is the biggest and most visited group of lakes in the Rila Mountains. Each of the lakes is named according to its shape.

Caves There are more than 4000 caves in Bulgaria. The Devetashka Cave impresses with its enormous size.

Mountains The Balkan Mountains is the longest mountain in Bulgaria. The Rila Mountain is the highest mountain in Bulgaria. Vitosha Mountain is a beautiful national park. It rises above Sofia and it is one of the symbols of our capital city.

The Rose Valley The Valley of the roses is one of the most romantic places in Bulgaria. The red rose is the symbol of Bulgaria.

Bulgarian food is delicious. Here are some typical national dishes: Bean soup is very popular. Bulgarian yoghurt is the best in the world. Bulgarian people love to eat meat balls and shopska salad.

Festivals and special days We have an interesting Bulgarian tradition. Only men take part in the Mummers` Games in March. They put scary masks and costumes. They go dancing in streets. Everyone is noisy and happy. Mummers

Festivals and special days Nestinarstvo is an old Bulgarian ritual. It involves a barefooted dance on embers. It is performed on the Day of Sts. Constantine and Helen and attracts a lot of tourists.

OUR PROJECT ACTIVITIES A project website has been developed: http://ecologyunited.tk/ We hosted successfully a project meeting in Sofia in May, 2013; We took part in the initiative “A school forest” – planting trees in Vitosha mountain; Our pupils won many prizes in the competition “Eco hero” organized together with ECOPACK; Visiting partner schools;

ACTIVITIES We organised a solidarity week and collected a lot of books and toys (given to children in need) (FREECICLING); Collecting plastic taps; We took part in Harton competition – collecting and separate paper; We organized activities of saving energy; We visited The Water Power Station “Kokalyane” We joined the initiative “Let’s clean Bulgaria for one day”

Meeting with experts Meeting between the pupils from 127th school and experts on recicling have been organised. Participants have written short esseys after the meetings to express what they have learned.

RECICLING IN BULGARIA Video projections "RECICLING IN BULGARIA" for the pupils from 127th school 5-8 grade have been organised.

competition "Become eco hero". Pupils fom 127th school participated actively in the competition "Become eco hero". The winners received prices given by the representatives of ECOPAC.

Balkan Charity Challenge Pupils fom 127th school joined the initiative Balkan Charity Challenge and have planted trees together with some of the participants in the school garden.

MUSIC CLUB Vocal grop „The bells“ learning songs from partner schools.

MUSIC EVENTS Talented pupils are involved in many events.

SPORTS This is our gym. We organize many sport events there. Basketball, football, volleyball and taekwondo are the most popular sports.
