GTA Employment Induction Contracts Core HR Workload/Pay End of Contract

GTA Engagement Rolled out in SPS in 2015-16 Academic year Lessons Learnt/Modifications Equality & Diversity Training Online training – mandatory for all staff http://moodle2.gla.ac.uk/course/view.php?id=1944 Health, Safety and Wellbeing School (HSO) Health & Safety Officer: Jeane Bonner GTA work is now contracted work; RA work is still casual work and separate ‘job’ Contracts are based on GTA workload tariffs– includes prep time, meeting time and teaching time – marking and 3 hour GTA training from L&T are extra

Workload Model & Pay Fte hours Calculations Hours paid evenly over term of contract First pay packet Additional hours – assessments /coverage / GTA training Holiday pay FTE based on Workload tariffs - All ‘extra work’ must be preapproved – course coordinator to email me Extras to be paid at next available payroll – one month in arrears Holiday paid at end of contract – includes additional extra hours paid If you work multiple jobs, hours will not be differentiated, payroll will not be able to assist your tracking and monitoring

FTE Calculations FTE=(Number of hours/16 weeks)/35 hours per week FTE based on Workload tariffs - All ‘extra work’ must be preapproved – course coordinator to email

Core HR Guid set up https://hrportal.mis.gla.ac.uk/pls/coreportal_live/cp_por_public_main_page.display_login_page Bank details Monthly payroll, last day of the month Email from HR for GUID set up procedures Bank details need to be entered

Pay Slips £ Core HR HMRC taxes NI SLC Pension Contributions Core HR – view your payslip - can be confusing if you do other work HMRC and taxes Student loan payments Pension Scheme - 6% Auto enroll – contact pensions department if you wish to unenroll

End of Contracts Review/Probation Resignation procedures Library /email / CoreHR Access P45/P60 PDR – not involved Resignation – written notice – we will try to accommodate One month from termination (end of contract) – ejected from the system When all posts with the university are closed P45 leave work, P60 annual work
