Requirements for Participations Athletic Requirements Athletic Packets: Athletic Packets are available in the front office, Athletic Trainer office, as well as in Coach Raczkowski’s classroom (once school starts). The packet must be filled out completely prior to getting a physical. Once the physical is completed, the packet should be turned in to Coach Raczkowski, or Ms. Scott, our Athletic Trainer. In the past, packets have been turned in to multiple people, so we are eliminating the packets changing of hands and losing of the packets. 24 Hour rule: If a student turns in an athletic packet, there is a 24 hour rule as to when they will be cleared for participation.

Eligibility for College Division I 16 Core Courses *10 core courses must be completed by the end of 10th grade. Corresponding test score (ACT or SAT combined score)** Minimum 2.3000 GPA** Graduate from high school **Sliding scale is applied to GPA and test score to be eligible. 16 Core Courses 4 English 3 Math 2 science 1 additional math, science, English 2 years Social Studies 4 years of additional courses (any area above, foreign language, or comparative religion/philosophy). Eligibility for College

Eligibility (continued) Division II,III, NAIA 16 Core Courses (same as DI) Minimum SAT score of 820 and ACT score of 18. Minimum GPA of 2.2 (beginning August, 2018). Scholarships are much more scarce in DII, DIII, and NAIA, so academic scholarships are awarded Eligibility (continued)

Grade Requirements Requirements The percentage of athletes who will go Division I is less than 2%. Majority of athletes will go to a Division II, III or NAIA college, meaning academic scholarships are awarded to compensate for less athletic scholarships. Higher the GPA and test scores, the more $$$ that will come to your son/daughter! Grade Requirements

Athletic Boosters About Boosters: Athletic Boosters is an organization that helps promote the monetary stability of sports at Tavares High School. In the last two years, the boosters has raised over 32,000 for our sports. Meetings are held once per month (typically on Mondays at 6:00 pm). Without getting more and more people involved (same 5-6 parents have been involved for the last 5 years), the Boosters will dissolve once these parents son or daughter graduates. Without an organization fundraising, it will cause distress to the athletic teams, and parents will have to pay more out of pocket to play sports at THS. Athletic Boosters
