Holidays in London Aleš Sova
Decision I decided to go to London for a month just three days before the holidays started. And three days later I was standing in Baker Street in the centre of London.
Accommodation Problems After one hour I was on the place where I was supposed to be accommodated- The Student Castle, and after my introduction at the reception the guy behind the desk announced to me “ Today we don’t expect anyone, come tomorrow at 9 A.M.” After a while when I was thinking what to do now, another student came in, Julien from France, and he had the same problem. Then five minutes later Maria arrived, a student from Russia, and the whole situation was repeated. After that the guy on the reception started finding out what was wrong and then he noticed he had a two-week old guest list. In the end all of us were accommodated and we went for beer to the pub across the street.
To School by Tube My accommodation was at Aldgate East (on the right) and my school was a few minutes by walk from Baker Street. It was just 8 stations but It took around half an hour to get to school.
By the noons I was at BSC London School for “ daily study” and then I had free afternoons. I usually went sightseeing in London.
Classroom / Classmates In our class there were seven people and it was the best class I could wish!
Night London The following weekend I went with Maeva, the student from France, to see London at night and it was amazing, I mean the night London.
Finally! Two weeks before I left, the whole our class went for beer to pub in the evening and when I arrived in the bar, I couldn’t believe my eyes. They had Czech beer: Kozel and Budvar from České Budějovice. So I think it’s not necessary to say that I didn’t go to a different pub later.
Arrival in the Czech Republic After my returning to the Czech Republic I was speaking with weird accent and sometimes I forgot how to say something in Czech language. But it has been one of the best life experience ever! And I recommend to spend some time abroad to everyone, it doesn’t matter where and for how long.
