Steps for Applying for Employment with USPS Step One Step Two Step Three Step Four Step Five Step Six Step Seven Log on to www.usps.com Scroll down to bottom of page and click on “Rewarding Opportunities” or “Careers” (see page 3 of this document). Click on “Create your eCareer Profile” (see page 4) and complete the Registration section (see page 5). After creating a profile, you need to search for job postings from within your candidate profile so all the information you have entered is used when submitting the application. To create your Candidate Profile click on ‘Show Roadmap” button at the top of the screen (see page 6). Click on the various boxes at the top of the page to enter your Personal Data, Communications Data, Work Experience, Education/Training, etc. You may update your Candidate Profile at anytime. Completion of the Candidate Profile is required to apply for USPS positions posted on eCareer. After you have registered an completed your Candidate Profile you are ready to login and search and apply for job postings (see page 7). After you log in, click on “Job Opportunities” at the top of the page to see the Job Search page. The easiest search is by Location (State). You may also search by selecting a Functional Area by using key words. Be sure to click on the “Reset” button in between searches. You may search for any jobs that are available throughout the United States (see pages 8 and 9). You have the option to apply for one or more positions. You will be asked to complete the Summary of Accomplishments. In this section you will need to provide a narrative on your knowledge, skills, and abilities as they relate to the position.
