ELOY Program @ Earl Haig Experiential Learning Opportunities Year

Who is this program for? The program is designed for students that are interested in: taking additional courses gaining work experience pursuing a post-secondary education travelling to other countries Beginning in the 2010 – 2011 School Year

What is the purpose of the program? To give students a chance to participate in a variety of opportunities that will better prepare them for post-secondary education. To give students an opportunity to have a less “crammed/stressed” secondary school experience. To give students an opportunity to customize their program based on their individual needs. Students must have completed 4 years to participate in the program.

What does this program consist of? In-School courses University/College Credit Courses Work Experience Travel Experience

In-School courses Students will take 2 – 4 in-school courses Upgrade your 4U/4M courses or Take those electives and specialized courses you always wanted to take, but couldn’t

University/College Credit Courses Students will “experience” post-secondary life at various, local institutions by: enrolling in or auditing (one day field trip to institution) 1 - 2 university or community college credit courses.

Both options will be offered via the Work Experience Both options will be offered via the 2-Credit and 4-Credit Co-op package. Internship Option or Paid Co-op Option

Travel Experience All ELOY students will be given the opportunity to participate in a Travel Experience in February. ELOY students will collectively decide their destination.
