Thursday, October 5 Topic: Assignment: Letting you know: Extra: Start Native American Posters Assignment: Posters are due tomorrow at the end of class for a summative grade Correct your handouts Letting you know: Next test: Tuesday, 10/17 Extra: Tutoring: Tuesdays, before and after school Warm Up Put the handout on your desk I will check it one minute after the bell rings If it isn’t out, it is late

This will be for a summative (daily) grade You will work with a partner to create a poster that will teach us about your assigned tribe. This will be for a summative (daily) grade Due tomorrow at the end of class! You will have today and tomorrow to work on your poster, and we will present on Monday. If you finish this step, start creating the pieces to glue to the final poster Do not get poster paper yourself—I will give it to you when you are ready Once you have all necessary information, and once you get my approval, you can start putting together your final draft.

You have the rest of class Projects are due by the end of class tomorrow Once I check your work, you may start the final draft Do not start your final draft until I check your work Create each piece individually, then glue them to the final poster New requirement: 3-5 sentences required for the descriptions of food and housing All items must be hand-written and hand-drawn No printed items allowed No pencil on the final poster (except in the drawings) For the maps, label where your tribe lived, and/or color their territory You do not have to color the whole map Refer to Chapter 4, page 99 You may use phones and iPads Helpful links are on my teacher website (QR code will take you there) Volume level = Quiet talking To get to my teacher website:

Before we go… Books off the floor Return supplies Straighten up supply table Desks straightened out Trash picked up iPads in the correct numbered slot Return to your assigned seat I will dismiss you once these tasks are completed and everybody is seated and quiet
