9th Grade PTO Night Welcome to BHS!

Who We Are 9th Grade Deans Lisa Redding Melanee Alexander

Dancing for Brookline High School! The Calculus Project is designed to narrow the achievement gap in mathematics by instilling a mindset that attributes success to hard work and resilience, by promoting collaboration among participating students, and by improving the mathematics problem solving skills of African American, Hispanic and low-income students. Our goal is to increase the enrollment of students from these three groups in higher-level math classes at Brookline High School by providing the support necessary for success. Students are invited to the Calculus Project based on academic performance and consultation with teachers. Thank you Rotary Club, for the opportunity to raise visibility, support, and funds!

How We Welcomed Your Children to BHS Gathering on Cypress Field with Advisors & Junior Mentors. Superfan t-shirts! Procession into the Quad with cheering staff and our band playing. Speeches from Mr. Meyer, Deans Redding & Alexander, BHS Superfans, & Junior Mentors. Advisory – rules, schedules, tours & get to know you activities.

Our Messages to Our 9th graders You are all now BHS Warriors! Hard work + support + desire to succeed = success We will get you know you well. Get involved. So many opportunities here! Be open to making new friends. Ask for help. There will be obstacles to overcome. Appreciate BHS for its diversity. You can do it. We can help. We believe in you.

Dr. Mykee Fowlin You Don’t Know Me Until You Know Me Thank you, PTO!

Messages from Dr. Mykee See people as individuals instead of summing people up. We have more in common than you may think. It’s not what you’re given, it’s what you do with what you are given. You are more powerful than your pain. Practice intentional acts of kindness. What can you do right now to make others feel better? Do what you need to do, not what you’re supposed to do. Take risks that matter.

BHS Values Caring, supportive community High expectations (for ourselves and our students) Known for academic excellence Well-rounded Life balance Good citizenship 3 BHS Mantras Hard work over time. Bring your best self to school. With freedom comes responsibility.
