Overview DISH is embraces its responsibility to act as an environmental steward to ensure the sustainability of our natural resources for generations to come. Through smarter processes and more efficient technology, the goal is to develop innovative solutions to reduce our ecological footprint. We are continuously improving our company-wide programs to conserve energy, reduce waste, source materials responsibly and mitigate the impact we have on the environment.

Overview At DISH, we do this by - Knowing our business and waste streams Using proper recycling/disposal methods Using auditing of methods to validate results

Knowing your business What are you producing (e.g. the goods or services you generate revenue from)?

Knowing your business DISH’s core business is satellite television broadcasting

Knowing your business How are you producing it (e.g. what materials and/or labor are needed) ?

Knowing your business DISH uses several main products: Reflector, mast and mount Cabling Set-top boxes Vehicles (Van, trucks) Tools and installation supplies Offices

Knowing your business What wastes are generated from producing it (e.g. by-product waste)?

Knowing your business DISH produces or receives several waste streams during installs Excess cabling Sealant waste Reflectors, masts and mounts LNBFs Set-top boxes Remotes Batteries Miscellaneous parts (e.g. switches, nodes, hubs) Tool waste (e.g. stud finders, satellite meters, wrenches) Packaging (e.g. cardboard, Styrofoam) * Note that you must make a hazardous waste determination on these items

Knowing your business How do you handle end-of-life management of your waste/product (e.g. operational waste or after customer is done with it)?

Auditing DISH continually audits its waste streams for compliance Installation sites conduct daily visual and weekly written checks Independent auditors visit each site at least once a year and audit processes and records
