Warm up game Simple tenses in the future. Practice Closure Schedule Warm up game Simple tenses in the future. Practice Closure

Warm up Instructions: Responde las siguientes preguntas con tu compañero: How will this city be in 30 years? ¿Cómo será esta ciudad en treinta años? What are you going to do this weekend? ¿Qué vas a hacer este fin de semana?

Q: Do you know the differences between them? Future Tenses Whenever we talk about the future, there are two common tenses: Simple future will Going to Q: Do you know the differences between them?

Simple Future Will Simple future is used to mainly express predictions or decisions made at the moment of speaking: A: Do you think you will be rich? B: I don’t know, maybe I will win the lottery. A: Can you send me the report today? B: I’ll call you if I can.

Sujeto + will + verbo base + R.O.S Simple Future Will In the case of structure, the only thing you must do is to add the word ‘will’ before the verb or action: Sujeto + will + verbo base + R.O.S I will make you smile. Claudia will tell us the truth. They will compete for her love.

Simple Future Will Negative In the case of the negative, we must add the word not between will and the verb: Sujeto + will + not + verbo base + R.O.S I will not make you smile. Claudia will not tell us the truth. They will not compete for her love.

Simple Future Will Interrogative In the case of the negative, we must start with the word will then the subject, the verb in its base form and then the rest of the sentence: Will + subject + verbo base + R.O.S + ? Will I play football tomorrow? Will she tell us the truth? Will they behave in class?

Watch these images and make 5 predictions about the future. Practice Time Watch these images and make 5 predictions about the future.

How will the future be? Briefly discuss these questions with your partner: How will you look in the future? Where will you work? Will you get married? Will you live in another country? Will humans in 50 years in the future populate other worlds?

Going to In the case of going to, the use is normally linked to something that is happening in a coming future or something that you are sure will happen: She is going to pay with a credit card (you see the person taking the credit card out of her pocket). I’m going to learn English (you are enrolling yourself in an English course).

Going to Structure In terms of structure, the elements you must include is verb to be + going to + the verb in its base from. Chile is going to play the FIFA Confederate cup in 2017. They are going to travel to New York. They bought their tickets yesterday!

Practice Time: A week in my country - Make groups of three and plan a holiday itinerary for an English – speaking friend. Crate a plan for the whole week, include where you will go, what you will do, eat. After you finish, you might present it to the class. Remember to use future tenses.

Practice Time Conversation: Predictions about the future will be shown on the board. Discuss with your partner if they are likely to happen. A nuclear war will destroy the Earth. Aliens will invade Earth. Flying cars will solve the problem of traffic jams. Global warming will wipe out many animal species.

5. Overpopulation will lead to mandatory euthanasia at 70. 6. Scientist will invent a time machine. 7. Tourist will go on space holidays. 8. The Earth will be a fairer and better planet.
