Study Strategies for Math Mrs. Lane

Let’s Share! How do you study for math quizzes?

Some other suggestions… Look at the types of mistakes that you made on homework assignments and your quiz. You may want to make yourself a list to help you remember to double check these parts of your problems. Rework any problems that you missed on the quiz. Find at least one similar problem from your homework and rework it too. You can record yourself working your problems. Some options are: Screencast-O-Matic (www.screencastomatic.com); Educreations Interactive Whiteboard (iPad or https://www.educreations.com/ ); or ScreenChomp (iPad app).

Complete your homework nightly. Rework any problems that you missed on your homework assignments. You can create a “homework corrections” page at the bottom of your assignment. Look back in your lesson notes if you need some guidance. It is good to do this nightly. Jot down questions that come up while you are studying. Ask your teacher the next day. Bring any problems that are still giving you difficulty to your teacher for extra help.

You should start studying for your test the night before you take it. True or False You should start studying for your test the night before you take it. False. You should start studying at least 3 nights in advance. On the first night, tackle the first half of the material. On the second night, study the other half. On the night before the test, review all of the material and then RELAX!
