Home for the Elderly Project, Mérida Students interacted with a sometimes forgotten population at the home for the elderly.
Home for the Elderly Project, Mérida Elderly residents’ eyes lit up when Santa Claus appeared with candy and soap for them. Reaction and feedback from students was surprisingly positive.

SL has a positive impact on reducing stereotypes and facilitates cultural and racial understanding. Service Learning combines community service with classroom instruction, focusing on critical, reflective thinking, as well as personal and civic responsibility.
SL teaches positive values, leadership, citizenship and personal responsibility.
