TESL Ottawa Winter Event BREAKOUT EDU TESL Ottawa Winter Event Presenter: Marlaina Riggio It is a happy talent to know how to play.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Breakout EDU games teach critical thinking, teamwork, complex problem solving, and can be used in all content areas. Breakout EDU is an interactive whole-class activity that brings the element of “escape rooms” to the classroom.

Breakout EDU 45 Minute Timer Let’s do the Time Warp again…… YOU are lost in time and have to navigate the history of communication in order to escape.  YOU will learn about various forms of communication. Starting with hieroglyphics, Incan knots and the Pony Express, all the way to video and the Internet. The main character in the game is Vint Cerf, one of the "fathers of the Internet." Breakout EDU 45 Minute Timer

How could this type of activity be used in YOUR classrooms? What challenges might you encounter? Based on your TIME WARP experience, what are your overall impressions of Breakout EDU? Questions, Comments And/Or Concerns
