My Family Purpose Statement As a parent, the purpose of my family is: Love, support, protect Provide food, shelter, clothing Encourage at school, activities, career My goal is to raise healthy adults who are responsible citizens and making a reasonably good living. OR IS THERE MORE?

Building Oneness in Marriage Physical Emotional Spiritual

Our investments reveal our purposes. Priorities Time Money Prayer Investments

Family Discussion: False gods… or honoring God? Money – What do I want more and more of? How can our family learn to honor God and trust God with money? Success – How my success become idolatrous? My child’s success? How can it honor God? Relationships – Do I desperately seek approval or satisfaction from others, or relate to enhance God’s glory? Fun/Hobbies – Can good, fun things become gods? How? Or how can they be enjoyed as blessings? Food/Drink – How can these “essentials” become idols? Technology – Useful tool or an idol robbing time from God and fueling ungodly passions? PRIORITIES – What distracts me from God and godliness?

What kids know… They know if we spend regular time with God’s word. They know if we truly seek to live by God’s word – our attitudes, our priorities and values. They know our commitment to the corporate teaching of God’s word.
