Step by Step Procedure for Proper Subcooling Method Connect refrigerant manifold set to HVAC equipment. Attach & insulate an electronic thermometer to the liquid line near the service access port. Run the equipment for 30 minutes to allow the system pressures and temperatures to stabilize. Measure and record the liquid line temperature. Monitor and record the liquid line pressure using the gauge manifold set. Review the subcooling temperature located on the equipments nameplate.

Record the saturated temperature and liquid line temperature. 8. Then subtract your liquid line temperature from your saturation temperature to calculate subcooling.
