Sign Religion Most believe that religion, any religion is acceptable to God. However, such is not taught in the scriptures, the medium through which God expresses His desires and requirements.

Sign Religion “26: If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain. 27: Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world” (Jas. 1).

Sign Religion “6: He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. 7: Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. 8: For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do” (Mark 7).

Sign Religion “32: And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free…7: Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?” (John 8; Gal. 5.)

Sign Religion Comment: Jesus often taught the truth by showing the falsity of certain beliefs and practices (cp. Matt. 6).

Sign Religion Kitchens Creek Grace alone - Faith alone Christ alone - Baptist Church Grace alone - Faith alone Christ alone - Scripture alone Grace alone: The doctrine of salvation by grace alone is patently false and extends to man not only a false hope, but allows him to feel saved in a state of passivity (introduce scriptures pertaining to grace and salvation, such as John 1: 17, 2 Cor. 8: 9, Eph. 2: 8, 9). Not that man has the responsibility of receiving God’s grace and God’s grace can be received in vain (cp. 2 Cor. 6: 1). Such teaching indicates that salvation is not by “grace alone,” that is, without man’s participation. Faith alone: Faith is certainly indispensable in man’s salvation (Rom. 5: 1, Heb. 11: 6). However, salvation or justification by faith alone is emphatically denied in scripture (Jas. 2: 14-26). Christ alone: What is meant by “Christ alone”? If “Christ alone” means without such as the Pope of Rome, human philosophy, etc., then we agree. However, the doctrine of Christ’s righteousness imputation is probably meant. The belief that Jesus’ personal righteousness is unconditionally imputed to man and that when God looks upon man, he only sees the perfect obedience of his Son (cp. Heb. 5: 8, 9, deal with Romans 5: 12-21, emphasize that the “righteousness” of verse 21 is submission to the gospel, God’s power to save, the very premise of Romans, Romans 1: 16, see also Romans 10: 1-3). Scripture alone: The sign actually presents a paradox. How can salvation be by “Christ alone” and “grace alone,” and also by “scripture alone”? Man must think (Matt. 21: 28). Man is to abide in “the doctrine of Christ” as opposed to the doctrines of men, this is true (2 John 9-11, Mark 7: 7). Such, again, involves man’s participation and humble obedience (cp. Rom. 6: 17, 18). God’s glory alone: Man’s ultimate goal should always be to glorify his God (cp. I Cor. 6: 19, 20). Man glorifies God in acquiescing to do God’s will. For God’s glory alone
