Tools For Communication Websites Create a website or use a link off your school’s website to post event information, officer info, forms and resources, etc These are some hosting sites that allow you to create your own site through them easily Google Sites Wordpress GoDaddy
The Face of Your Club Keep people interested with photos and videos of your events. Bring a camera to your events and take a lot of pictures. Get videos of your biggest service projects to motivate both members and promote them.
Creating a newsletter
Make It Interesting Write with your voice. You can sound interesting by just being yourself Use proper grammar and spell check Include pictures of service events. Your articles should have a call to service. Excite new people to join your club. Encourage members to come to projects.
Resources to Use Microsoft Publisher Adobe Indesign Use a pre-formatted templates or create your own Adobe Indesign Will give you complete freedom to design your own layout Although it is expensive, talk to your school’s newspaper or yearbook advisor to see if they have a license they can share with you
Share It Online Promote your newsletter on the web. Share it on your club’s website. Link it on your club’s Facebook page. Tweet it on your club’s Twitter account.
Communicating with the press
Mastering Press Releases Communicating with the press is a big step to promoting the activities of your club. Make your press releases appear consistent and formal. Write about upcoming or past events. Include contact information for them to reach you for more information. Insert pictures with captions
