Guided Practice On the next few slides there will be A picture (clue) Book Warm-Up On the next few slides there will be A picture (clue) A quote Write down the quote, and sketch the clue in the “clue box.” Then, in small groups, make a prediction- what do you think this book is going to be about AND what do you think is going to happen in this story based on this clue.

Clue 1 “But the sheep had taught him something even more important: that there was a universal language in the world that everyone understood….” -The Alchemist

Clue 2 “Where your treasure is, there will also be your heart.” -The Alchemist

Clue 3 “He picks up the two stones, Urim and Thummim, after falling to the floor, reminding him of the old king that gave them to him a year ago.” -The Alchemist

Clue 4 “He replies that it is the falcon’s flight over desert sands, that it is the very force that takes a part of the desert with it as it flies across the earth.” -The Alchemist

Clue 5 “Everything on the face of the earth is constantly being transformed because the Earth is alive and has a soul.” -The Alchemist
