Which Chocolate do 3rd Graders Like the Best?

Purpose The reason we are doing this project is to see which chocolate 3rd grade likes best. Hypothesis Two of us think that milk chocolate will win because once when one of us went to the store, there were no milk chocolate bars left. One of us thinks that Cookies n’ Creme will win because he knows several people who like it.

The Materials 2 Hershey’s milk chocolate bars 2 Hershey’s dark chocolate bars 2 Hershey’s Cookies n’ Crème chocolate bars 51 napkins 3 permanent markers 3 pairs of rubber gloves from the kitchen

The Procedures 1. We bought 2 Hershey’s milk chocolate bars, 2 Hershey’s Cookies n’ Cream chocolate bars, and Hershey’s dark chocolate bars. 2. We put the letter A on 17 napkins. 3. We put letter B on 17 napkins. 4. We put the letter C on 17 napkins. 5. After we put on our gloves, then we put one section of one dark chocolate bar on each napkin labeled A. 6. Then put one section of one milk chocolate bar on each napkin labeled B.

The Procedures 7. Then put one section of one Cookies n’ Crème bar on each napkin labeled C. 8. We had our classmates get one of each of the 3 labeled napkins. 9. Our classmates tried each one of the chocolates. 10. We asked the class to vote for which one they liked the best. 11. We tallied our results.

Graphed Results

Conclusion We found out that Cookies n’ Crème was the most liked by our classmates because Cookies n’ Crème has chocolate chips in them. Two of our hypotheses were very wrong because we though that milk chocolate would win. One of our hypothesis was right that Cookies n’ Crème would win.

Conclusion If we were to do the same project again, we would see which type of chocolate, white or Cookies n’ Crème, would get more votes.

Acknowledgements I would like to thank Mrs. Lloyd for giving us this project to us. We would like to thank our parents for buying the candy bars. We would like to thank our class for being our taste-testers.
