We asked teachers what they want students and parents to know before coming to the Middle School. Here is what they said . . . Falsetti

Check out our website to determine which supplies to purchase. All teachers have different expectations concerning how they want students to organize their materials. 6th Grade Team Supply List Falsetti

Develop Study Skills Current 6th grade students were also asked what they would want parents and students to know now that they have been at the Middle School for a year. They all said that they needed to study more because as you get older the content becomes more difficult. Completing homework and Study Guides before a test are both ways that they should study. This is an expectation in all Elementary Schools as well, but students here feel that keeping up with assignments and studying is even more important. Rayman

Develop Study Skills Here are some websites that may provide some helpful tips for improving study skills: Great Schools School Family Rayman How-To-Study

They also said . . . HAVE FUN!! Socialize with friends from elementary school and take time to make new friends. Don’t be nervous about this – current 6th graders found this to be the best part of Middle School! Remember that everyone will feel nervous – your child won’t be the only one. They should ask when they need help and come with a positive attitude! (P.E.A.S.) Leitch

Cafeteria Procedures Student numbers will remain the same and must be presented at the time of purchase (typed into a keypad). More choices of food are available. Be sure to check the monthly lunch menu on the district website. Homeroom teachers and cafeteria monitors will give specific cafeteria instructions on day one. Leitch

Prepare for a great year! Incoming KOMS students should attend the 6th grade orientation in August. This is a student only day!! They should practice with a combination lock this summer. If given a summer assignment, make sure your child has it completed and done well! Leitch
