TYPES OF RESOURCES PROJECT 05 LESSON 02

TYPES OF RESOURCES There are three specific types of resources. 1. Renewable 2. Non-renewable 3. Flow

RENEWABLE RESOURCES Renewable resources are resources that can be replenished over time. However, they could still run out if over-used. Ex: Fish and trees can be renewable when they are not used up faster than they are produced © CC Nigel Cox: File: Foildarrig_-_geograph.org.uk_.JPG and licensed for reuse under CC BY-SA 2.0

Ex: Coal, petroleum, and natural gases NON-RENEWABLE RESOURCES Non-renewable resources are natural resources that can never be regrown or regenerated fast enough to be consumed. Once these resources are gone there will be no more to use.   Ex: Coal, petroleum, and natural gases © CC Flcelloguy: File: Oil_well.jpg and licensed for reuse under CC BY-SA 3.0

Ex: Solar, Geothermal, Tides, and Wind FLOW RESOURCES Flow resources are resources that do not run out, but do not need to be renewed or regrown Flow resources are often referred to as renewable resources as well. Ex: Solar, Geothermal, Tides, and Wind © CC Hadhuey: File: E-66_Egeln_feb2005.jpg and licensed for reuse under CC BY-SA 3.0
