WHO IS GOYA ? 1815 1773-1774 He is reckoned to be “the Father of Modern Art.” Goya painted for more than 60 years until he was 82 years old. Goya born on March 30 of 1746 in Fuendetodos. In 1749 the family bought a house in saragossa and some years later moved in. Goya attended school at Escuelas Pias where he meet Martin Zapater. At age 14 yrs. he became a apprenticeship for JoseLujan. He later at age 17 he moved to Madrid to study with Anton Mengs Goya painting

Timeline In 1771 Goya went to Italy for 1 year or more. In 1809 Goya along with other painters were chosen for Napoleon’s museum in Paris. In 1810 starts working on the Disasters of war etchings. In 1812 Goya’s wife dies leaving her husband and son. In 1814 Ferdinand VII is reinstated to the throne and Goya and others are in danger of being put in jail. In 1815 Goya is brought in front of an inquisition. In 1819 Goya buys a house. In 1823 signs houes over to grandson Mariano. In 1823 goes to Paris. In 1826 returns to Spain. In 1827 paints Milkmaid. In 1828 Goya’s health is deteriorating. On April 2nd right side becomes paralyzed. On April 16th dies and buried in France. In 1901 is unearthed and moved to Madrid Spain. In 1771 Goya went to Italy for 1 year or more. In 1773 he returned to Spain. In 1774 his paintings foreshadowed. In 1775 of July Goya Married Josefa Bayeu. In 1777 Birth of third child who does not live past on infant. In 1778 Mangs allows Goya goes to the Royal Palace . In 1779 Fourth child born also not lived past infancy. In 1786 was working for King Charles III In 1799 He was appointed first court painter. In 1780s and early 1790s worked on tapestry. In 1792 Visited southern Spain. In 1792 overcame an illness but left deaf. In 1800 Goya paints Roya Family. In 1802 the Dutches dies and Goya makes planc for the funeral. In 1803 Goya lifelong friend Martin Zapater dies.

Why is he Famous ? First Series Second Series Goya was a romantic artist who looked to his inner most feelings for his work. Goya is a very famous painter and he does many different types of art. He is one who reflected some cotemporary histarical upheavals and was a leader of inspiration to others. The tapestries that were done for the Royal Family was were it all started with being Famous. He had four different series. First Series Second Series

What has he done ?

The Black Paintings. The Black Paintings consists of 14 paintings. They are said to be the most extreme showing of the growing misconceived and disaffection between modern society and the artist himself.

Travels Goya went to many different places to study art. It all started in Saragossa then moved on to Spain. Later he went to Rome. Then he went to France. But in the end he ended up in Madrid, Spain.
