Unit 4 – p. 68 SEPARABLE PHRASAL VERBS RULES: A verb + a particle can stay together or be separated Particles: up, off, over, out, away, back, in, down, on, together, into. If the object is a NOUN, it may come after the phrasal verb. (verb + particle) You have to do over this paint job. They call off this afternoon’s class. 2. If the object is a NOUN, it may separate the phrasal verb. (noun) You have to do this paint job over. They call this afternoon’s class off 3. If the object is a PRONOUN, it must come before the particle. (pronoun) You have to do it over. They call it off. Unit 4 – p. 68 SEPARABLE PHRASAL VERBS

(ALWAYS TOGETHER) Particles: on, for, off, through, over, after, into, with, across Example: The teacher called on students in the back row.
