Hargrave JROTC Falcon Battalion BLUE BONNET DRILL AND MILITARY SKILLS MEET 04 MARCH 2017 Event This SOP is published to provide guidelines and pertinent information for organizations and individuals planning to participate in the HISD Bluebonnet Competition Open Drill and Military Skills Meet for SY 16-17. The Bluebonnet takes place 4 March 2017. Communication Objectives: The Meet will begin with the Optional Physical Fitness event conducted at Northside High School on Friday, 24 February 2017 located at 1101 Quitman, Houston, TX 77009. All HISD schools participating in the Physical Fitness event must participate in the Friday, 24 February event. No HISD schools will be allowed to participate on Saturday, 4 March. The Physical Fitness events for Saturday 4 March will be conducted for out of district schools only. The Marksmanship Competition will be held on 4 March and will be limited to 30 marksmanship teams. The Meet on 4 March will be held at the Chavez High School campus, located at 8501 Howard, Houston, Texas, 77017 and will consist of the following six events. Activities: Drill Team Competition Color Guard Competition Marksmanship Team Competition Physical Fitness Competition Ranger Swim Competition Academics Competition Key Take-Aways: It’s also important to understand the military perspective of a Cadet, as well as the training, attitudes and skills that these individuals bring. Replicate a Cadet’s sense of purpose by publicizing your program’s values and purpose, and its culture. Our program has grown into a powerhouse that’s why skills meets of this magnitude gives our battalion whose mission, vision and culture they can feel good about joining. Especially when it comes to dependability, work ethic, loyalty, integrity and cultural diversity. The Falcon Battalion placed 8th out of 41 High Schools in the Greater Houston Area Physical Fitness: Males 4th Place Females 5th Place   Ranger Swim: Females 8th Place Academics: 2nd Place Cadet Brittany Klesel 3rd Place Cadet Lauren Bryan
