masterpiece – “context clues” I showed my masterpiece to the grown-ups, and asked them whether the drawing frightened them. masterpiece We saw one masterpiece after another at the art museum. masterpiece- a great piece of work

discouraged – “context clues” I had been discouraged by the failure of my Drawing Number One and of my Drawing Number Two. discouraged Laura was discouraged when she didn’t get the role she wanted in the play. discouraged- kept from doing something

exhausting – “context clues” Writing name tags for all 500 guests was an exhausting task. exhausting Grown-ups never understand anything by themselves, and it is exhausting for children to have to provide explanations over and over again. exhausting - tiring
