VISUAL ALTERATION GLAUCOMA

ASSESSMENT Glaucoma: intraocular fluid pressure(IOP) Population at risk: >40 yr. old; black > white, medical history Types -Primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) -Angle closure glaucoma (acute glaucoma closed-angle glaucoma)

Clinical Manifestations Primary open-angle glaucoma -gradual onset -optic disc changes -peripheral visual field changes Closed-angle glaucoma -sudden onset of symptoms -pain -nausea and vomiting -colored halos around lights -other vision changes
