My Family By Shauna Peterson Go to slide Number 1. Select “Slide Design – Design Templates” from the task pane drop down list. Pass your mouse over the design you want until you see the drop down list box. Click on the down arrow. Choose “apply to selected slides.” This will apply the design only to the one slide. If you click the mouse on the design rectangle without going through the drop down box, it will automatically apply that design template to every slide in the slide show.

My Family By Shauna Peterson If you want to change the color of the design template you have chosen, click on “Color Schemes” listed at the top of the task pane. Pass your mouse over the color you want until you see the drop down list box. Click on the down arrow. Choose “apply to selected slides.” This will apply the color only to the one slide. If you click the mouse on the color scheme rectangle without going through the drop down box, it will automatically apply that color scheme to every slide in the slide show.

Family Members Ron Shauna Jared Erin Aleece Leslie David Sarah Rachael Rebecca Shayna Christine Go to Slide 2. Let’s add animation to the parts of our slide. Click on the drop down list box on the Task Pane. Choose “Custom Animation.” Click on the “Family Members” title. Now click on the “Add effect” drop down list. Choose “Entrance,” then choose the type of animation you want, such as “Diamond.” You will automatically see a preview of what that will look like. Click in the bulleted column. Click on the “Add effect” drop down list. Choose “Entrance,” then choose the type of animation you want, such as “Dissolve In.” If you have a second column of names, choose an animation for it as well. If you would like to see how the slide will look without playing the entire show, click on the “Slide show” button at the bottom of your task pane. You will need to click your mouse for the next effect or words to appear. You can press “escape” on the keyboard to get out of the slide show.

FAMILY MEMBERS Go to Slide 3. Apply custom animation for each part of this slide as you did in the previous slide. Continue adding custom animation for each of the remaining slides.

FAMILY MEMBERS Now we will add animation to the slide itself; how each slide appears in the slide show. Go to “Slide Transition” on the drop down list in the Task Pane. You can choose a separate transition for each slide. Just click on your choice, such as “Checkerboard across.” Move directly to the next slide. It will apply your choice when you click out of the slide. If you want you can choose one transition and “Apply to all slides.” Each slide would come in the same way throughout the slide show. Scroll down to the last choice in the list. You will see “Random Transition.” Click on it and then click on “Apply to all slides.” This will automatically apply a different transition for each of your slides without you having to choose a separate one for each slide. Now let’s add timing. Look down the task pane about 3/4 of the way. You will see “Advance Slide.” “On Mouse click” is the default. You can set the timing for each individual slide by deselecting “on mouse click,” click inside the check box “automatically after” and in the spin box, choose a time (.03 is a good time to start with). Move directly to the next slide. It will apply your choice when you click out of the slide. You can then set the time for each slide individually, or you can choose one time and “apply to all slides.” You are now ready to play the show. Go to “Slide Show” on the menu and click “Play Show” or press F5 on the keyboard. If you press “Slide Show” in the task pane or click the “slide show icon” on the left side of the screen just above the drawing toolbar, it will start the show at the slide you are clicked inside. You would need to scroll back to the top of the show and click inside Slide 1. Then press the “Slide Show” button in the task pane.

The End Click on title and type “The End.” Go to “Insert” on the menu bar. Find Movies and sounds. Click on Sound from clip organizer. Select “Claps Cheers.” When it asks if you want it to play automatically, click yes.
