Thank you for bringing us to where we are Introduction. Presentation will provide a brief overview of where transit began, how it operates today and the changes we expect to see over the coming years and decades.

“Well, it’s Groundhog Day…again.” We’ve done this…over and over.

I-94 Pavement & Bridge Project Project Description Resurface freeway and repair 50 bridges along I-94 from Nicollet Ave. in Minneapolis to Shingle Creek Pkwy. in Brooklyn Center Project Schedule March 20, 2017-July 2018 Lane restrictions begin on May 1, 2017 expecting to last until October 31, 2017

I-94 Pavement & Bridge Project Directly impacts 20 Metro Transit express service routes including Maple Grove Intermittent lane & ramp closures I-94 reduced to two lanes in each direction Southbound traffic on Hwy. 252 & westbound traffic detoured to Hwy. 100 Northbound I-35 to westbound I-94 ramp closed May-August 2017 Lowry Tunnel closed on one side for 6 weeks; reduced to two lanes in each direction Maple Grove rush detoured via I-694 to Hwy. 169 to I-394

Summer Rail Work Project Description Project Schedule Preventative maintenance on the Green and Blue lines to ensure a longer system life and create a smoother, faster downtown rider experience. Date Location March 24-27 Stadium Village to Snelling Ave. April 7-10 Target Field Station to Franklin, Stadium Village May 12-15 Franklin to 38th St. Station June 1-5 (June 8-12 alternate) June 23-July 3 (July 20-30 alternate) Project Schedule March 24, 2017-July 2017

Summer Rail Work We’re caring for your system After work is done, improved arrival times, smoother ride, will prep system for future expansion Other options: biking, walking (within downtown,) taking buses from 46th St. Station, 38th St. Station, & Franklin Riders can sign up for Rider Alerts- www.metrotransit.org/rider-alerts Also, Twitter and Facebook updates

Superbowl 2018 February 4, 2018, U.S. Bank Stadium The countdown is on and people are watching! The stadium hosts the game, but the entire region hosts the event Need to prepare adequately for crowds Metro Transit has already been meeting with NFL

Superbowl 2018 Key Takeaways Need to maintain a focus on regular riders and locals Events leading up to game day can be just as large for transit as game day Travel by foot to/from venues and waiting in lines will be a big challenge in our winter climate Communication is KEY Station Ambassadors Rider alerts Twitter Facebook

“Well, it’s Groundhog Day…again.” We’ve done this…over and over.

Orange Line Exciting BRT Expansion 17-mile Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) line connecting Minneapolis, Richfield, Bloomington, & Burnsville along I-35W Northbound & southbound, 7 days a week Replace & upgrade existing Route 535 Street improvements, upgraded transit stations Improved bus routes Planned to open 2020 - 2021

2017 potential fare policy change Step not taken since 2008 Generate Additional Fare Revenues – Increase revenues across all modes and service (Metro Transit, regional and contract service, Metro Mobility and Transit Link) while minimizing any ridership impacts Promote Equity – Price fares so that they account for an equitable portion of operating costs and reflect the ability of customers to pay Simplify – Make the fare structure easier to use and understand Looking to generate $10M to $14M over two years

Public Input Process Formal meetings Pop-up meetings Open house format Receive public comment Throughout region Pop-up meetings Major transit hubs During busy travel times Less formal, still collect input Connect with community organizations Existing partners, EAC
