Extended Metaphor Poem Define simile a figure of speech involving the comparison of one thing with another thing of a different kind, using words “as” and “like” used to make a description more emphatic or vivid (e.g., as brave as a lion, crazy like a fox). Define metaphor A metaphor is a comparison of one object with another that are completely different. metaphor simply suggests that two dissimilar things are the same. What is an extended metaphor? an extended metaphor is basically a drawn-out metaphor that is represented throughout the whole poem.

Concrete Poem Concrete poetry uses the words and the form of the poem to convey the same meaning so that they are difficult to separate one from the other. Form is meaning.
