GCSE Mathematics Specification Edexcel Linear A 100% Final Examination
The New Mathematics GCSE The new GCSE will have more demanding content and will have a different grading scale. The examination will consist of 3 papers which will be examined at the end of the course in June 2018.
The New Assessment System The will be two tiers of entry for this linear examination. Foundation Tier (Grades 1 to 5) Higher Tier (Grades 4 to 9) For the Edexcel Specification There will be 3 papers for each tier each lasting 1 1 2 hours. There will be 1 non-calculator paper and 2 calculator papers.
The New GCSE Grading System Grade 5 has a large proportion of current grade B content Grade 9 has A/S content 3% of the population will be awarded a grade 9
The New Mathematics GCSE Three Levels of Progress KS2 SATs 4c – This would equate to a grade ‘C’ Over 90% of pupils our level 4 pupils in 2015 achieved a grade C or better The new mathematics grade ‘C’ is a grade ‘5’ which has 75% old grade B content! A new and more challenging content for the ‘pass’ grade. This is a new challenge for all schools not just ours.
