Statement of the problem Using laptops for a long period causes it to heat up too much, which leads to slowing performance, damaging The laptop, and decreasing laptop’s life time. Therefore, cooling is required. (1)

Introduction People use laptops rapidly for long durations. It causes the laptops to have high temperatures. A proper laptop cooler can cool down the laptop and solve the problem. (2)

Need Analysis Designing a group of fans. The product shouldn’t be expensive. The product has to be easy to operate. Reinforced plastic should be used in the manufacturing. The product must have a long life-time.

Secondary Objectives : Primary Objective : To design a laptop cooler that can cool down the laptop effectively . Secondary Objectives : (3) Four fans should be used. Has a law weight. Foldable, portable, and easy to carry. It should have USB ports.

Objectives Tree Design a laptop Cooler USB ports Foldable Portable, easy to carry Four fans low weight

Constraints The used materials should be internationally approved. The design should be safe. The used materials should be affordable. The used plastic in manufacturing can be recycled. The used plastic shouldn't be toxic. Maximum price is 100 SR.

Criteria Works quietly (no noise). High quality of used materials. Convenient cost. Warranty for two years. Easy to handle (comfortable, Portable). Stylish and modern look (thickness, size). Fits most laptop sizes (430*300 mm). Safety.

Problem Definition To design a laptop cooler that can cool down the laptop effectively by a group of fans . The design should be safe and made with internationally approved materials. The design has to be easy to operate and made with reinforced plastic , with a long life-time. The cooler must work quietly and functions by using USB port . The product shouldn’t be expensive. In addition, it should have a stylish and a modern look, also should fit all laptop sizes.

Morphological Analysis Generate three concepts (designs) : Design 1 : plastic, rectangular, USB port, 4 fans, and 17 inch. Design 2 : aluminum, rectangular, battery, 1 fan, and 14 inch. Design 3 : plastic, square, electrical plug, 2 fans, and 19 inch.

Criteria & Weight Criteria Weight Safety 25 Cost Compatibility 20 Portability 15 Style

Rate : 5 as best & 1 as worst Hence, the best design is design (1)

Human Factors Good look. Smoot touch. Physiological The fans are quiet (no noise). Light doesn’t harm the eyes. The plastic doesn’t hurt the users. Psychological Good look. Smoot touch.

Conclusion - In short, and in general, as a Laptop Cooler... The following factors should be taken into account, as they contribute to the quality of the Product Design: The Need Analysis The Morphological Analysis ( Criteria & Weight ) The Human Factors ( Physiological - Anthropometric – Psychological ) - The more studies on the product design and taking those factors into account, whenever these factors contributed produces with high quality product design.
